"No. 2" Spray

Some things are a little sensitive to write about. This is one of them. We all need to "go", but we prefer to be able to do it in complete privacy, in our own home, with no one else home. Am I right? 

But it doesn't always work that way does it? At some point we all need to take care of business at inopportune times. Maybe when visiting relatives or at work or the emergency visit to a public bathroom (yuk, the worst).

We can spray, light a match, whatever...but there is still that lingering odor. At best we sometimes end up with a smell something like meadow flowers in a cow stable.

Well here is your answer! Mix up this essential oil blend and spritz it right in the toilet on top of the water just before you "go".  It will disperse over the water creating a vapor barrier that traps offensive odors.


This amazing spray was created by Jilllie at One Good Thing. Be sure to check out her blog and this link. She even offers a free label printable for the little spray bottle!

Here’s what you’ll need:

20 drops Lemongrass essential oil
20 drops Grapefruit essential oil
20 drops Bergamot essential oil
2 ounces of water
(1) 2 oz dark glass spray bottle

Fill the spray bottle with water, add 20 drops each of the Lemongrass, Grapefruit and Bergamot essential oils, and shake.

How to use:

BEFORE “nature calls, shake the bottle again and then spritz the #2 Spray into the toilet bowl. Approximately 3 or 4 spritzes should do it. Then do your “business”. The oils will disperse over the water creating a vapor barrier and trapping any offensive odors!

Update: I wanted to be able to make this in a smaller bottle for travel. For a 10 ml. spary bottle you will want to add 3-4 drops of each EO and top with water.
